Wow, how sad. I was the second manager of the Seminole after Paul Serwitz. The theater had a great mural over the concession stand of movie stars and was state of the art in sound when it opened. I worked for a great man, Mr. John Case, and had the pleasure of working with ,still one of my best friends, Scott Chisholm, there was also Bill Benz, Projectionist; Hollis Farris, in advertising; Eileen McKeel, Jim Schneider, Andrew, Cindy, Tina, Susan, Margie, Bina, Karen and many others. The Seminole was a good place to watch a movie and a fun place to work until Cineplex Odeon took over Neighborhood Theatres.

This was the theater in Richmond in the ‘70’s and 80’s. I loved working Ray’s midnight movies, being a Relief Manage, and eventually being Assistant Manager to Mr. Jerry Norwood. Mr. Tom Connell was the original manager and a great man.

The Westover holds a special place in my heart. It was the first place I saw a movie as a child in or around 1964 when my Mom took me to see Mary Poppins. The Westover is also huge because it is the first Neighborhood Theatre I started working for in 1977. Cecil Burroughs was the manager and he was a great guy to work for. Dan Coli was our Relief Manager. I worked for Neighborhood for 10 yearsat all the Richmond theaters and a couple in Charlottesville. Some of my fondest memories are from my time in “show business”!
