A non-profit group is trying to raise enough money to turn the old movie house into a place where they can show movies and have live stage performances. I wish the luck, I would love to see a movie in the old theater.
I too loved the old theater and all of the Barton movie theaters.
My three brothers and I returned to OKC last month for a get together. We moved away from Oklahoma in 1966, I was the youngest with the least amount of memories. We went by the place where the Redskin used to be and went to visit the graves of our grand-perants, Mr. and Mrs. R. Lewis Barton. The owners of the Redskin and many others in Oklahoma. I was glad to see this web-site and see the impact their work made on lives making us all a little happier for many people.
