In the late 50’s, and 60’s, the Rocket/Capri was a first run house.

Owned by Pat Stopulos of Davenport, who owned the Coronet on Harrison Street, and the twin theaters on Spruce Hills, it opened as first run house, and exhibited big productions like Funny Girl.

The theater was open into the 70’s and called the Studio. I saw Deep Throat there. Really!

23rd Avenue, not 23rd Street. Owned by the Brotman’s.

It was owned and operated by the Brotman family, not Bartman, and was open into the early 60’s.

It was on 15th Street, not 15th Avenue.

This theater was open long after 1955. I saw a 2nd run Western circa 1958-1959, and the theater was open into the early 60’s, when it was converted into an adult film theater. I think it closed in the early 70’s.
