The lobby of the Uintah included a soda fountain, booths, a jukebox, and displays of postcards, candy, and magazines. As Motion Picture Herald wrote in its Sept. 18, 1954 issue, “It’s a store, en route to the movies, and seldom does any of Bob’s customers pass through this area without making a side purchase of something to eat, drink or read.”
“Bob” refers to co-owner Bob Walker, who took the photos that ran with the MPH story. The top looks out to the street; the bottom shows the path to the Uintah entrance.
