Looking forward to seeing the First Man…Is Garden Sate the best screen to see it (Imax) or Lincoln Square. I’m closest to Rockaway, but this looks like one of those must “travel” movies. I remember seeing Interstellar in West Nyack before it shut down. Still the best movie going experience hands down!
Saw Fallout in Dolby over the weekend with my g/f. Is it me, or is it just “too loud”? I can handle a lot, but every time we come out of that theater, we both have major headaches.
Just came out of Baby Driver. Great movie. People are busy at work building out the new Dolby Theater. Pallets were in the hallway and boxes from Christie were right outside. Must be the projector? Will be nice to have Reserved Seating. This theater is becoming overcrowded.
The real joy of Dolby Cinema is the color reproduction and sound. The opening trailer alone at Paramus got me hooked. Whether that was just marketing or whatnot, it worked. I can’t wait for it!
Alpine, I totally agree with you. I’ve been going to AMC Prime in Paramus for the “official” Prime releases. Seeing The Revenant in Prime was the best movie theater experience I have ever had. It would rock if they would upgrade Rockaway to that next.
Does anyone know the official status of this? I heard it was closed to upgrade its projectors to digital and upgrade speakers? Now I see the website is down. Is AMC running it?
Saw White House Down in Theater 6 this weekend…The lights didn’t fully dim until the movie started. Previews were seen at full light brightness (Extremely annoying). Hopefully this was a glitch.
What are the odds of getting a Dolby Atmos ETX system installed here? I really don’t want to drive to Paramus. I hear amazing things about the sound difference though.
I really wish AMC would let us redeem our AMC Stubs for tickets on Fandango. Wouldn’t you think they would rather take $10 off a ticket rather than the huge margin they make on food?!
Yeah…It was great in IMAX . Toward the end it got annoying because they were switching aspect ratios constantly. The IMAX scenes were incredible though. I enjoyed the movie a lot.
Can’t imagine the lines at Rockaway right now! I’m looking on Fandango…All 12 midnight shows are sold out. The 330AM is still for sale. I’ll be making the trek tomorrow to see it at Palisades! (Real IMAX!!)
I loved the books…That being said, it was fantastic. They definitely skipped on some of the ending, but it was already 2.5 hours, so can’t really complain. I am actually hearing great things about Titanic in 3D. May have to check it out.
As of 6:30, there were “rope lines” going up for The Hunger Games. Last count, I saw 10 screenings at midnight tonight. Movie is getting great reviews. Can’t wait to see it on Saturday.

That is good to hear…Looking forward to more Fathom Events in the future. Jurassic Park in September.

Any update on Dolby Theater opening?

Timetable?

Any word yet on a remodel? I figured this would be one of the first locations to get it done, since it serves a large area….
Any info on what they did…?
Do we know what/when renovations are coming to Rockaway?

Is the Dolby Vision Theater still on track? Is it really that much better. I’m really curious for details about it.

Have you seen the trailer for Bond and the new Abraham Lincoln Movie…Both look excellent!

Looks like according to Movietickets.com…The closest theater to have Ghostbusters will be AMC Wayne, and New Brunswick.
Does anyone know if Ghostbusters will be coming here in October?
