You know bigjoe59, you could do the work yourself – and let all of us know. As far as I know, just about every local library has the New York Times going back a number of years – and if you can’t get out – it is online through most local libraries.
Sorry to members to post to one member, but Joe Vogel – – I have subscribed to Boxoffice for twenty-five plus years. I cannot access there “The Vault” for the time frames prior to 1980’s. Do you have a way do do so?
Does anyone know if this theater started as the West Theatre and became the West Twins? And when the change occurred – if it did? And if this theater was called West Twins – logically it became a twin – did it and when? And if not why was it called “Twins”?
Does anyone know if theatre was ever called the Hillside or know anything about the Hillside? I know it was in South St Paul and was a functioning theater in the 1960’s. Address? Who Owned? Did it ever have another name?
There is so much to say, but the first – and simple answer – get the dvd of “Oklahoma!” with the short “miracle of todd-AO”. Watch the short. Now only will you see amazing film – it will begin to give you an idea that there were feature films made to capture the feeling.
I am trying to find infomation about the Plymouth Theatre/Cinema. I understand that there is a recent article that said that this theatre was the Plymouth for a time. Does anyone have any information confirming this or know any information about the Plymouth?
I am also trying to learn about the Philips Cinema – one L – what it was before, after, address, any information?
IT IS HIGHLY likely that there is considerable confusion about this theatre. There is NO reference to the theatre in 1969 – 1973. Cinema 180 did not exist prior to 1976. I have information that strongly suggests that this theatre was built from the ground up as an Adventure Dome in the mid to late 70’s.
Thanks to a member of a forum – there is a likelihood that if a “CIRCUS WORLD” film played it was an IMAX short produced in 1974.
“Circus World (1974) 25 minutes. Produced and directed by Roman Kroitor of Imax Corporation. Photographed by John Spotton for Circus World Inc.
What length was the film at the Castro?

Does anyone have a timeline of when this theater went from 2 to 7 and 7 to 16?
Thanks
Do you remember the dates?
I really want to see the credits for “the Golden Head” but can’t get out to LA. Will anyone be there who could take video (or stills)?
I would certainly cover expenses to video/photos. I would even pay for your tickets.
thank you
