There was an article written about the Ramova in the Sun-Times the other day…..and in it they gave an email address to go to so you could sign a petition to try and save the Ramova….return her to her days of splendor. I spent many happy hours in that beautiful theater as a child and young lady and was just heartbroken to see what she has become through neglect.
Come on fellow Cinema Treasures members…let’s rally behind this theater and get as many names on that petition as possible!!
Please help by going to www.savetheramova.com and signing the petition!!
Let’s restore our Southside gem to her original glory…..then the Northside can have the Music Box and Bridgeport can have the Ramova!!
So many happy memories of hours spent at the Ramova. I hope that it is restored to it’s original beauty…..and thank all of you for the history that I wasn’t aware of.
It would be great to see pictures of the Ramova when it first opened, in its youthful glory.
It’s good to see that I am not alone in my thoughts about the re-naming of the Shubert Theatre. Where do we draw the line ?
I do hope that before the re-opening, a compromise can be reached. I like the idea of bringing back the Majestic name, and it would be wonderful if they could incorporate both names with “ presented by LaSalle Bank ” underneath it.
Such a shame that all our treasures are being sold out. ( And I STILL call it COMISKEY :) )
