When I was a kid in the early 1960’s, I spent many Saturday afternoons at the LeRoy Theatre. There would be a bunch of newsreel-type short subjects and cartoons, a cowboy or monster movie, and usually some kind of “live show” on the stage. At the holidays, there would be a Santa Claus who passed out candy canes to us kids. I have fond memories of this theatre, and I hope it can be kept open.
