The Crest Theater DID NOT close in 1959, if it did it was for a short while. A few of the movies I watched at the Crest Theater: Hombre;1968, Boston Strangler;1969, The Exorcist;1973, The Big Fight Ali-Frazier-First Fight Documentary;1975, just to name a few. I recall they had a coat check at one time. It was razed in the later 1970s to make way for the Mapes Money Tree Casino, a spinoff of the Mapes Hotel Casino, but it ended up draining the Mapes causing both casinos to close in 1982.
