  • <p>Photograph taken 1959 of the Astoria Finsbury Park, showing original auditorium. On stage is the Compton organ, behind is a modern safety curtain. The original was painted with a garden scene by the interior decorators Marc-Henri & Laverdet. Perhaps the new curtain was made after the war because of changed fire regulations for theatres and costs being too high for an original decorative replacement.</p> <p>Ron Knee</p>
