I am saddened that the Kingsway is still closed, but I have good news regarding the Revue. The Revue Cinema has been purchased by a local couple who has agreed to lease it to the Revue Film Society (the Save the Revue people). The historic Toronto west-end theatre, the Revue Cinema, closed at the end of June 2006. Over the past year, the hardworking community group, the Revue Film Society, has toiled to find a way to reopen the theatre. Finally, this week, we announced our success.
The Revue has been purchased by local couple Danny and Letty Mullin, who have agreed to lease the building to the Revue Film Society. The RFS, in turn, will operate the cinema. The Revue is expected to be open by the end of summer 2007.
