The fronts of four movie theaters were time bombed on April 30, 1934. The cause was attributed to labor disputes; no one was injured, although windows nearby were shattered. Damage was estimated at $25,000. Newspaper press photo from the Newspaper Enterprise Association, reference department. Photographer unknown.

The original Oakland Theatre is just barely visible at left in this photo; it is still for sale when this 1934 photograph was taken.
