During the 1960’s my mum was an usherette here. As a small child I would often go to work with her and see all the latest films for free of course. When the intermission was taking place and my mum would stand in front of the screen all the children would have to queue for their ice creams but not me. I would very cheekily go right up to the front and get my ice cream straight away much to the annoyance of the poor kids in the queue! fond memories and if I recall correctly it was a picture Palace with a grand staircase etc. I have not found out though if this was indeed the case in pictures so if anyone has any pictures of these days at the ABC I would love to see them.
