Very expensive theatre, IMO (At least back then). I really did like glancing at the walls in the hallways when walking to my selected movie, it was very eye-catching. This theatre is now a Studio movie grill as of September 2012.
Those 2 pics bring back memories. The first movie I saw at this theatre was Transformers:The Movie back in summer 1986. I also saw Batman 89 (there was a line outside the box-office), Ghostbusters 2 (saw it on a Sunday afternoon w/dad in an empty theatre), Gremlins 2 and Halloween 5. When the first ninja turtles movie came out in 1990, I remember scratching my head wondering g why they didn’t get the movie at this theatre, therefore we ended up watching it at the Grove off of college station.
At one point, did this use to be an AMC theater in the late 80’s early 90’s? I remember the name you mentioned, “pacific 6 theaters” but from my memory, it was a lot bigger. Any thought(s)?
Thanks in Advance :)
I remember going to this theatre pretty frequently in the 1990’s when I lived in San Diego as a kid. I remember seeing the first Ninja Turtles movie on opening weekend (Sunday) at this theatre and it was PACKED, fun times. Also saw, Robocop 2 Arachnaphobia, fun times!
I really wish someone would put the AMC Sweetwater San Diego theatre in the database.

The last two movies I saw at this theatre were Hollow Man and X-Men back in summer 2000.
Wow!
