Paramount Theatre 323 W. 6th Street, Los Angeles, CA - 3D Presentation 1952

Unusual photo showing two projector sources that are Synchronized: A simple interlocking drive connected the two projectors, ensuring their movements were perfectly synchronized for the screening of Bwana Devil in 3D.

The two projectors for screening Bwana Devil in 1952 worked in synchrony to project two separate images, one for each eye, using a two-projector, two-filter system for 3D projection.

One projector displayed the image for the left eye, while the other projected the image for the right eye, and both images were polarized (e.g., one horizontally and one vertically) to create the 3D effect when viewed through polarized glasses. The projectors required a simple interlocking drive to ensure they operated in perfect sync.
