Regal Marryatville 275 Kensington Road, Adelaide, SA - Atmospheric Light Sconce in foyer

Originally known as the Princess Theatre, it was built in 1925 by National Theatres. The opening night featured the silent film “Little Annie Rooney”. In 1928, Ozone Theatre purchased the site, renaming it the Marryatville Ozone. In 1941, Ozone renovated the building in Art Deco style.

The site was once again up for sale in 1963 and the Burnside Council made the purchase. In 1971 the building was renamed the Chelsea Cinema.

The cinema has been known as The Regal Theatre since 2012.
