Ambassadors Theatre 625 Hay Street, Perth, WA - 1928

The Ambassadors Theatre was designed as an ‘atmospheric picture palace’ and opened in November 1928. This photo shows the original Art Deco facade.

Paula Ennis writes - My mom was an usherette there for a number of years and my grandmother made their gorgeous uniforms.

Richard Prosser writes - I have wonderful memories of Mum and Dad taking me to the matinee’s at the magical Ambassador’s in the 1950’s, it was like Aladdin’s castle to me as a young child, I was transported to a fantasy world. I feel so privileged to have been able to see it in glory and I’m sad that young people today will not experience it.
