Royal Grand Theater, Marion, IN (about 1905)

This theater figured prominently in my book “The Harmonious Echo: The Life and Times of the Barley Memorial Organ” (available from Amazon.com) because of its succession of three pipe organs, including the four-manual Page organ shown on this site. I had despaired of ever finding a photo of the theater exterior.

Imagine my surprise when I was going through some old papers and photographs of my family history, and I came across the only photograph of this theater that exists. It was on the cover of a little handwritten notebook that listed each act of the vaudeville shows at the theater for several weeks.

I share the photo with you!
