The second photo link is indeed the New Theater before it was demolished. The Belle Harbor was the final name of the Park Theater which was located on Beach 116th Street. That building still stands.
The Edgemere was both an indoor and outdoor (open air) theater. It was located on the boardwalk. I recall the abandoned marque along side boardwalk amusements in the late 1960’s.
As Edgemere never had a post office, many considered it a section of Far Rockaway. Originally part of the Fifth Ward of Queens, its individual community name is forgotten by most present residents who refer to the section as Far Rockaway.
As mentioned above, the Castles Theater was indeed a third Long Beach theater not listed here. It was located in the middle of town on the boardwalk between Edwards (then Jackson) and National Boulevards. The venue was formally used as a dance hall owned by Irene and Vernon Castle.
I believe it burned in the late 1930’s or early ‘40’s.
The Long Beach Cinema remains closed, having been damaged by three feet of flood waters. Local newspaper reports that a leaky roof caused substantial damage to projection equipment.
As mentioned in posts above, the west side of the structure was built in the original shell of the Lido Theater. The entire interior was cleared out – gutted with little remaining other than the roof and west wall. The eastern half of the building is indeed new construction, replacing a single story frame real estate office.
