The long awaited restoration of the Barton Organ Console was done this past year. After an almost year-long restoration, the console was reinstalled in the Ironwood Theatre during June of 2010. A series of concerts/silent movies is planned for mid-September. Carlton Smith Pipe Organs of Indianapolis, IN did a fantastic job! The organ is completely playable/functional and sits on it’s own original Barton Theatre Organ Lift. It is one of six Barton Organs playing in their original installations. It is small, only 2 manuals and 7 ranks of pipes, but it really fills the theatre with a vibrant and glorious sound! Come and hear the Grand Old Lady sign once again!

This theatre is alive and well. It is used regularly for concerts, stage productions and occasionally, for meetings.

The renovations are practically done and the theatre is beautiful!

The Barton Theatre Organ (affectionaly knows at the “Grand Old Lady of the Ironwood Theatre”) has also been undergoing restoration at the hands of volunteers guided by professional pipe organ technicians. Over the past seven summers work has brought the 2-manual, 7 rank instrument back to its glory. The instument is 100% orginial and is completely playable. Late in the winter of 2006, the console will be disconnected and shipped out for a complete restoration of it’s own. During the time, the orginal organ lift will be worked on, refurbished and restored as well.

Come and see our wonderful theatre and visit us and hear the “Grand Old Lady” sing!
