I assume this drive in was on the south west corner, same the the Picwood Theatre? Or was it on the South East corner? …former location of the Westland Shopping Center and current location of the Westside Pavillion.
Dan: I assume that Scott’s was the burger place on the south west corner of pico & westwood, which later was a bank (much later). I was born in ‘64 and have vague recollections of walking up my block and through the parking lot to that restaurant on the corner and seeing the Lone Ranger and Tonto on their horses in a sectioned off area next to the restaurant. Strangely enough, I now live near Overland & Palms. They’ve widened the street and are putting in extra street signals. My house was just two up from the the Southern Pacific tracks and the train would shake our house as it passed by, sometimes several times though out the night or early morning. You probably remember the twin theatres next to May Co and that circular caged statue in the courtway? I understand there was a Kittyland at the May Co. sight before May co was built?
I worked at the Regent in ‘81/'82, and served Natalie Wood a small popcorn and a coke; I didn’t know who she was until my collegue working the door asked for her autograph. On another occasion Cathy Lee Crosby parked her Rolls out front and asked me to watch it during the film. When Mann took control of the Plaza, I worked there for a while. Those were some good crazy times.

I saw all three Star Wars flicks at the Avco. Szabo hired me as an usher during the run of Annie.

Apparently there was a a drive in called the Pacific Drive-In on the corner of Pico and Westwood Boulevards. This picture was taken in 1934.

I grew up just down the street from the Picwood. The locals would walk up my street on their way to the theatre & bowl.
