  • <p>Here are two grand opening ads for the Portland Drive-In Theatre. Launch date was July 2, 1949 and — in addition to two features “Thief of Baghdad” and “Fall In,” there was a fireworks show as well. The drive-in advertises as the largest drive-in in the world. The claim is rather hard for patrons to check in the pre-Internet world.</p>
