  • <p>This Grand Opening ad from The Daily News of Huntingdon PA, May 17, 1950, establishes the opening date of the Midway Drive-In. The Midway ran a similar ad a couple of days earlier promoting the opener.</p>

  • <p>Hoyts Renown Theatre  378 Glenhuntly Road, Melbourne, VIC - Today converted to units.</p>
            
              <p>The Renown traded well until the advent of television, and somehow managed to survive by diversifying into specialized product. A fire in 1970 led to the theatres demolition. This valuable main road site was finally cleared for the construction of a multi-level retail & apartment site. The development was fittingly named “The Renown Apartments”</p>
