Chatswood Kings Theatre
Architects Crick & Furse had the challenge of dealing with an odd shaped corner block in their design plans. Railway Street frontage was 100 feet, while the depth on the Brown Street side of 95 feet diminished to 65 feet at the other end. Showman George M. Webster (formerly with Hoyts) was the managing director of the Kings Theatre Circuit. After a takeover by Greater Union in 1946 Webster continued as General Manager of the circuit until the late 1950s.
