Liberty Theatre
Exhibitor Graham seems to have operated for about twelve months, to be followed in 1926 by William Mills who gave the Masonic Hall the first of several new names – The Strand, but then promptly put the business up for sale – ‘must sell £200’ – and moved to Forbes. By early 1927 F. G. Mayo was in charge, soon selling out to newcomer H. B. Haward (Howard?) who then closed for winter. In November 1927 Walter Doolan purchased the Strand and seems to have continued for several years running ‘Silent’ movies with his son Alan (who later managed Blackheath and Springwood).
