West's Theatre
Colorized view down Junction Street at the corner of Berry Street around 1940, with the cinema on left: ‘WESTS CROWN THEATRE’ can be seen written high on the front wall. When the new Roxy cinema opened 14th August 1935, the Crown continued under West’s management for a few weeks before a deal was apparently done for West to stand aside. The Roxy management leased the Crown as a secondary house.
