Regent George Street scaffolding – wooden October 1927/metal December 1988. Inset shows one of two cement ‘goblets’ being raised into position on top of the front wall by workmen. After 25 years, one ornament displayed signs of deterioration, so - for safety and appearance concerns - both were removed. The building to the left of the 1927 scaffolding can be identified in the 1925 photo in this collection.
