Regent Theatre
Following a five week run of “The Circus” plus ”Metropolis”, the Regent’s third attraction was Paramount’s “Wings”, which opened 19th May 1928 and also ran for five weeks. As well as ‘synchronised sound effects’ the presentation was also enhanced by screen size enlarging ‘Magnascope’ (not mentioned in this opening advertisement). Paramount had introduced the Magnascope technique to Australia 12 months earlier when the Sydney Prince Edward ran “Old Ironsides”.
