Paulette McDonagh had attended acting classes by P. J. Ramster some years before, and she had originally engaged him to direct the first McDonagh Sisters film. However, Paulette was dissatisfied with his approach to her script, and soon took over directorial reigns herself. Ramster did provide some technical advice on the films, but some sources incorrectly credit him as director of “The Far Paradise”. At right is a photo of “The Far Paradise” writer/director/editor Paulette McDonagh and cameraman Jack Fletcher shooting a final scene (with a Debrie) 20th April 1928 on a farm outside Donnybrook, Victoria.
