State Theatre
Universal’s “That Touch of Mink” opened 24th August 1962 to record business at the State, and ran for eight weeks. Doris Day was the world’s top box office female star in this period due to a series of ‘will she/won’t she’ romantic comedies - like this – which were in vogue just prior to the cinema’s ‘sexual revolution' of the late 1960s.
