When the Washington became the first palace in the South, the Queen one or possibly four-upped the Washington becoming the jewel of what would develop into a movie theater row. But aging badly, the theater was renamed the Leo closing on April 15th, 1953 after 40-plus years. Then in 1957, the theater was bulldozed. The only good news for Queen fans was that all references for the Leo were gone and it went down under her original nameplate.
