First ad and second day for the Roxy Theatre that launched in the former Heath Hardware turned Western Auto location on October 29, 1939 with “They Shall Have Music.” Eugene Lawing was the operator of the Roxy. The operation was short as two new owners, Charles Myers, Jr. of Myers Theatre Circuit took it on and held a naming contest in 1942. The Roxy became the Victory Theatre in March of 1942. A third owner took it on that fall and declared no Victory closing it in 1943 with space repurposed.
