Mid-City Outdoor Theatre

It’s May 6, 1950 and Janesville gets another drive-in. This time it’s the Mid-City Outdoor Theatre by Standard Theatres circuit opening with “I Was a Male War Bride” and two cartoons. Claiming 1,500 spaces but having 865 spaces and an additional parking lot without services, the picture area of the 65' wide and 75' high screen was 40'x55' at opening. Standard also owned the Twin 41 in Milwaukee, the Stardusk in Sheyboygan and the Beloit Theatre.
