I liked and miss the old Apple Tree cinema. When it first opened, it was a weird combo of both 1st and 2nd run movies in the same building, but that didn’t last. The first movie I ever saw there was “Bugsy” in 1991. Later saw “Babe,” “The Birdcage,” “She’s All That,” “Dante’s Peak” and others.
I love the Inwood! I visited Dallas a lot when I was younger and saw a lot of indies here like “Talk to Her,” “Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon,” “In the Company of Men,” “The Opposite of Sex,” and “The Spanish Prisoner.”
I visited more recently and saw the seats had all been removed and replaced with beanbags and sofas when I saw “Hello, My Name is Doris.” It was weird.
I visited Dallas a lot when I was younger and I LOVED visiting the Cine. I saw “Leaving Las Vegas,” “The Sweet Hereafter,” “Tumbleweeds,” “Cold Comfort Farm” and others there. I really miss how BIG this theatre felt.
I visited Dallas a lot when I was younger and saw a good deal of movies here. Sorry to hear it is no longer around. I remember seeing “Muriel’s Wedding,” “Chocolat,” and “Hurlyburly” here, among others.
There may have been a few more, but the three movies I saw here for sure were “The Ice Storm,” “The Last Days of Disco” and “Orgazmo.” What a trio. LOL
I only saw one movie here ever, while I was visiting from out of town. It was “Boys Don’t Cry” in 1999. I remember the auditorium having some very poorly-placed structural columns in the middle of the theater, partially blocking the views of some seats.
I remember seeing “The Little Prince” here on a field trip in 1st grade.

Visiting from out of town on spring break, I saw “Fargo” here just after it opened in 1996. It ended up being one of my all-time favorites.
I saw “But I’m a Cheerleader” here in 2000 when in town for a conference. Sorry to hear the theatre is gone.
