In 1930 the manager of the Fort,Mr I J Craite,arranged a promotion for his new serial, Rin Tin Tin.He told kids attending the previous showing of The Lone Defender that any kid bringing their dog would get a free pass to the matinee show of the new serial. The kids turned out in their hordes complete with dogs and this picture was taken and used as promotion in the local paper.
