This structure is reported to have come from Camp Upton in Yaphank, Long Island. After World War I when the camp was closed all buildings and fixtures were auctioned off for pennies on the dollar. Buildings were dis-assembled and transported by rail, truck, and/or barges to their new homes. Many of the bungalows and businesses in the West End off Long Beach came from Camp Upton after the auction in August of 1921.
