This is the console, after refinishing, from the Wurlitzer in the Oriental Theatre when it was in my home in New Lenox, Illinois.

The Chinese art deco styled console was the only one of its kind ever produced by the Wurlitzer factory. In the theatre, its finish was originally a subtle gold-colored gesso “finger paint” design. It was refinished in an ivory with gold leaf accents for its installation in the residence. The original “Howard seat” shown here (instead of a traditional bench) was originally from the Salem, MA Paramount theatre’s Wurlitzer.
