In April, 2022, it was reported that the ceiling lights in the auditorium had fallen and smashed into the seating.

During the 1980s the Plaza took on the name Odeon after the Odeon opposite closed.
Apologies, the photo was taken in the 1950’s.
The ongoing battle to save the Hippodrome was highlighted on ITV Central News on 11/08/2021.
Upon a recent visit, I discovered that the building is due to be demolished. I’ve uploaded an image of its current state.
