rvb, I have nothing on a lower level of the building. The bathrooms I knew were on the second floor, right and left. There is no architect name on the papers. I never saw a staircase leading to a lower level.
I hope so too, but that’s what I was told by the woman who worked for the carpet store guy. I’ll look on my blueprints to see if the architect’s name is there.
John, are you talking about the Bellerose? You said Bellevue in your post. I have been told that F.D. used the interior for practice, and much, if not all, was destroyed. A tragedy.
Hey, Maxruehl! Myron Katz was my manager at the Bellerose for years, until he moved to the Floral (bit of a story there), and I went with him the year Jaws2 came out. We ran a Jaws2-athon back to back! Mr. Katz was a very kind and shy man, and yes, he did have difficulty with conversation. Maybe you and I know each other? Were you part of the group that stayed up in the theatre that night on the second floor, shut out all the lights, and played Simon? :>

That’s a terrible article. Everyone in it is represented as being so smug and unfriendly. “I’m not a racist”….“with a grin”….“got into his black Lexus”… That just stirs up more bad feelings.

The drinking fountain was right next to the soda machine, on the right hand side (going in) at the foot of the staircase.
