My grandfather also had a brother, Russell Ritter, and the Russell Theater was on Russell St…who knows what was in his mind when he named it!
This theater was built and run by my Grandfather James C. Ritter, named after his son who died at a young age.
I believe my grandfather, James C Ritter. My mother and his daughter was Eleanor Ritter Bradford.
My grandfather, James Clifford Ritter, built the Rivola theater. My Uncle Delno Ritter took over operation of the theater. Ritter also owned the Rialto theater and earlier the Boulevard and Russell.
