Well, I can’t read while driving it seems.
The 2007 I saw was parts of the contractor’s license number, not the date on the permit.
It seems all the windows on the upper floors have been replaced as well as the floodlights on the underside of the marquee.(code compliance?)
It look like workers just up and left one day, one worker even left their sweatshirt inside.

I stopped in Cobleskill on the way back from Troy to take a picture of a B&B that bears the last name of a friend.
I came to a fork in the road and saw an unusual marquee like vertical sign.
When I got closer I saw it said Park Theatre, so I stopped for a look on the way back.
It looks to be stuck in time sometime in the 1970’s.

I was in Troy today on business. After I completed my scheduled tasks for the day I walked around downtown Troy for about two hours taking pictures of old buildings being given new life.
I wandered around taking pictures until I got hungry, just barely a block from the cafe I was considering, were the telltale steel remnants of a marquee and the curved entry of a movie house.
The building has almost totally been stripped of architectural importance, save the leaf pendant on the very tip of the building.

Something is going on at Proctor’s, on Wednesday I was driving around in Troy(lost).
Around the next corner I saw what appeared to be a once great marquee.
When I did get down I saw Proctor’s Theatre in a rather poor state, it saddened me to see another Vaudeville house/movie palace in disrepair.
But only for a moment, until I saw a little pink sign that said:
City of Troy
Work Permit
dated sometime in 2007.
I hope it’s for the better.
Hope i’m not too late.
The Park Theatre in Cobleskill is an absolute must, it’s a unexpected treasure in such a small town.
The former Lyric/Towne now the Endicott Performing Arts Center is a wonderful example of a “full circle” existence.
The Tioga theater in Owego is a great small town theatre that has “beaten the odds”.
Any updates on the future of the Cinema Art?
That’s a shame, I saw the marquee on Saturday the 6th while in the city.
