I was impressed with the incandescent lighting in the ceiling, and the immaculate floor and entrance way. I hadn’t expected to see this in a small city. Further south at North Rockport I used a crank pay phone to call friends in San Francisco. Time stood still in Eureka in 1975 - I was 28, and drove a ‘65 Falcon convertible.
