Frontage to Johnston Street.
Established on a busy cable tram route, the theatre was also served by electric trams in nearby Smith Street. Locations on public transport routes when very few people owned cars were important considerations in establishing theatres. Note the fly-tower stage. The foyer and mezzanine ran from the street along the back of the auditorium. The windows and walkway over the verandah are parts of the Regent’s toilet suite. Access was also from the mezzanine level inside the theatre.
