•
This was taken in September, 1984 when I took over as manager of the Montwood 3. I was there until February, 1993. During my tenure the Montwood 3 was remodeled, then in 1986-87 we added the four new screens, and it became the Montwood 7. This was my favorite theatre in all my decades in the business.

 •
Here is the Montwood 3 Marquee. When we added the four screen, the stylized 3 was replaced by a block 7 with a white background. The rest of the Montwood logo remained the same. We used the same marquee, but had to use smaller letters to get all seven screens on the same board.

 •
“Pretty in Pink” had a hugely popular run at the theater in 1986. It was one of the top three moneymaking films to play the theater that year. The other two - “Karate Kid 2” and “Stand By Me”

The “Six-Track Dolby” marquee notation for “Out of Africa” was a misnomer (theatre would not have its first 70mm/Six-Track presentation until its summer run of “Aliens” months later).
