well…Kim and I settled down and became moms and stuff, but Cathy has always been the party girl! We love her though…might have to join her just a little for old times sake…LOL BTW…I just found my Plitt name tag! It’s my last one that says Mrs. Mitcham…didn’t get much use out of that one! hahaha I think I still have my old one somewhere.
Ok…back where we belong! There was a reason why I wanted to have this one at my house…I have to make sure certain people play nice :) When we first got the idea I was hoping it would get our little group close again. Cathy, Kim and I were roommates in Atlanta…we had a blast, but things ended a little badly for some. We were very close to Diane too…they were all in my wedding . Lisa was my maid of honor …now she hasn’t even returned my calls. We’ll see what happens…should be interesting…Cathy is playing bartender! LOL
hahaha…i would love it if you did! I told Diane to let him know to bring any others he wanted to…hopefully he will. It would be great to see Jerry Baby again! :)
I thought this stuff was long gone, but I just found two big envelopes in the garage. They are not BORs — not even just for Augusta. They are called “The Huff Report” and signed by Steve Wiener. They were sent out to all managers every week. I’ll show you Saturday, but if you want you can have them. They are interesting to look at and see how all of the theatres in the district were doing at the time. National Hills and Columbia are mentioned a few times. One even mentions when Mr. Biggs retired.
Looks like I’ve run into the same problem you have. Cathy, Kim, and Diane all told me they would get on here this weekend. Oh well, maybe if I start telling embarrassing stories about them they will get on to defend themselves! LOL
This is a shame. As I’m going through pictures, I’m finding a lot of great ones that I can’t identify. They are theatres in Florida that Robert worked at. I can’t post them if I don’t know what they are.
Mike, I have seen that you collect one sheets, but are you interested in any old theatre reports etc…? You know, like weekly reports that listed sales in the district.
I guess I have to tell you at least some of the story now. I didn’t get too big for my britches…I got married! LOL Only a very few people knew we were even dating. Mr. A was not there much, so he didn’t have a clue. Finally, a couple of weeks before the wedding we sent out invitations. Well, our projectionist was so happy for us he hung the invitation on the bulletin board. The wrong person happened to look at that bulletin board. hahaha Talk about somebody being MAD! He pitched a fit.
I don’t even remember who the projectionist was when I was there. I only worked there for a few months. I worked at North Dekalb Twin during the day and at the drive in at night while my husband was managing Twelve Oaks. Drive Ins are so different…especially if you work in the box office. You are so cut off from everybody else. I didn’t care for it.
I know what you mean…Dick never had the guts to fire me — I was suspended— nobody really knew what that meant :) (Funny story) anyway, I was getting ready to make a scrapbook with my pictures, but I guess I’ll just leave them out so we can make copies easier.
Well…it’s kind of a long story. I think at one time I was known as the Yoko Ono of the Atlanta Theatre world! Haha You’ll hear all about it! I had to find Bill through his son Britt on Facebook!
Bring whatever you want or nothing at all. Some of the girls are helping out, so it’s ok. I was talking to Cathy the other night…we were both saying that we seem to remember the Atlanta days better than National Hills. You and Bill better be ready to help us remember! We both wish that we had written things down like you did. We just thought we would never forget :(
I couldn’t forget Columbia 1 & 2! I worked there a few times filling in or doing kids shows in the mornings. I think I remember we had a Christmas party or 2 there. I never really stopped to think about how many theatres I have worked at til now — it’s a bunch!
Hahaha…Mike, you’re not going to believe it but I worked here for a little while too! I do have a great memory of this place. I worked out at the box office and the bugs were TERRIBLE! One night they were so bad I hit the button to call Mr. Harvey the manager to come do something about it. Well, he thought I was being robbed and brought the police with him! I didn’t stay there long…Mr. Harvey was a great guy though.
Hey Mike…how can you add a theatre that’s not on here? Plitt had another theatre called Mall Corners in Gwinnett County. My husband was a mgr. there in 84-85 — I learned to run projectors there! I think Cathy was an asst. mgr. there later. She also managed Stonemont for a while.
