Looks like showings of ready player one are sold out especially in dolby. Avengers in dolby is getting full and probably the imax and imax 3d Showtimes will too since the film was shot mostly on imax digital cameras.
OK, well I heard from someone who heard from someone who heard from someone and they didn’t actually cancel the Fathom Events, they just accidentally entered a bunch of them into the system as reserved seating but the auditorium has no reserved seating so it was making it impossible to order tickets and variously giving out internal error, sold out, no showings scheduled, etc. and apparently it will be fixed soon and the ticketing will work again. So that is good.
Doesn’t help that their new app and online ticket system of the last couple years is horrendous and makes it barely even apparent they even show stuff like this.
There are so many poorly selling movies out this weekend they don’t even have space for a single showing or two this week?
Wonder what the heck is going on with this theater, now that they are finally getting into some of the better Fathom Events Classics for the year, all of a sudden it seems like none of the ticket links for this theater work for them. They either say sold out or when they don’t say sold out they give internal error. Is Rockaway once again pulling all of their Fathom Events Classics?
What the heck is up with this theater these days? Last year they ran them, and some pretty much sold out even the big #16 theater but then all of a sudden after not cancelling a couple that I’d imagine would be weaker sellers for that series they go and cancel two that would for sure have all but sold out and done way better than what they did end up using #16 for. That really made no sense.
I was glad to see them back here again for this year again even if the series had a bit of a weak start for titles this year, but now it seems just as they are gonna start to get into the more popular stuff they are pulling it again??
Dolby Projector is messed up here, not sure when it went bad, it was fine a number of weeks ago, but looked in and the screen looked weird, all radioactive and weird stripe on side of the screen. Apparently it’s been like this for a few days at least. Hopefully they fix it.
Lol.
Hey moviebuff, who cares? We can look it up online! Or do it the old fashioned way like looking in a newspaper! You can’t wait to reach 4000 posts, huh?
The 15:17 to Paris is playing in dolby cinema this weekend. Fifty Shades Freed is in Imax.
Greatest showman is playing in imax this weekend.
This weekend maze runner 3 shares dolby with jumanji . Black panther dolby tix now available.
This weekend 12 strong is in Imax while jumanji continues its streak in dolby. I wonder when AMC will upgrade it to dolby 3d.
During the showing of last jedi in imax when the movie started the lights were left on so some moviegoers addressed management to turn it off which they did!
Star wars is playing only in imax and regular while the commuter is in dolby. Looks like black panther is in 3d and regular but not imax.
I think amc needs to upgrade the imax projector along with the seats since its been almost a decade since the conversion.
Tonight it’s not crowded . Because of the snow.
Wow, they pulled Last Jedi from Dolby here for Jumanji? Last Jedi Dolby was packed here every time I looked for tickets, even today still, every good seat sold out. Seems like a bizarre decision. Just like how they got rid of TCM Classics, all of the showings for everything, even though they had the best sales for sales of any theater in the entire region.
Do they take cash or credit? How about wooden nickels or bitcoin?
Starting with the opening of the last jedi, this theater is now selling merchandise in their AMC Store.
When I saw titanic back in 97 the loews in wayne was mobbed and I enjoyed it . Projection was good and sound excellent. Ill wait until it hits 4k blu ray soon as I own the 1999 DVD.
Saw Titanic and the Dolby 4K presentation is pretty incredible. It was a long time ago, but I don’t recall seeing nearly this level of detail back in 1997 when I saw it here. The Dolby screen is also a good deal larger than the largest screen they had back in 1997.
Lines a bit shorter though haha. They were insane in 1997 here! Week after week wrapped way around the outer mall, way back, on some days almost all the way around to the far end of the back, crazy. Nothing ever like that other than for Star Wars.
The HDR was pretty good too, I don’t think the film version had quite this ability back then. Maybe some of the dark scenes at the end had some brighter areas seeming a little too bright, but whatever. Mostly it was all spectacular presentation all-around every which way. Maybe those who saw it in 70mm back when had something beginning to be like this, but this seems way beyond what I recall seeing in the 1997 original film release or later digital re-release. It did make it almost feel a little like it was something you hadn’t seen before (although maybe for those who did manage to see it in 70mm the difference would not be quite as huge, by ‘97 70mm was already pretty rare).
Perhaps moviebuff82 should get a job at this theatre! He could be the head seat scrubber and spill picker upper. Then he wouldn’t have the time to post nonsense on this forum anymore.
Regarding cleanliness I think they need to take care of cleaning spilt popcorn and cupholders filled with napkins at the dolby cinema. Every showing its dirty.
Titanic is returning to this theater for one weekend only in dolby 2d.
This weekend marks 11 years since it opened. I wonder how long the lease is for this theater compared to the old amcs in and out of the mall . Ever since they changed the projection and revamped two auditoriums and raised prices it has made profits despite declining sales of tickets. Now I hear that amc will sell merchandise at this and other theatres.
