Frontenac is the town right next door to the north of Pittsburg.
You can clearly see the remains of the old Pittsburg Drive-In in the Google Photo.
How do I know it’s the Pittsburg Drive-In? Somewhere I saw an areial photo of the drive-in and somewhere I read that the drive-in was 3 miles north of Pittsburg. I sure that’s it.
AUTO DEALERSHIP or RETAIL (it’s a truck dealership)
AKA:
LARGO 9
MOVIES AT LARGO 9.
Thank You
I THINK it opened in June of 1986 under United Artists and was named Movies at Largo 9,
Sometime between 1991 and 1993 it was sold to Floyd.
By 1995-1998 it was Carmike’s till it closed in 1999.
If anyone can come up with more info or better dates, please post them.
I see the sign says MALL CINEMAS is that another name for the theater?
The red dot is off a bit in the Google Satellite Photo, the theater is to the northwest in the Ohio Valley Mall Shopping Center, sorta to the northeast part of the building, with the lighter roof, right?
From looking at all the photos, it looks like the left side of the wide screen addition is still on the screen, but the right side is gone. What do you think?
AKA AS:
THE MOVIES AT PINELLAS PARK 12.
On the Google Map Photo it’s down a bit to the southeast from the red dot at the Wal Mart site, correct?
United Artists Theaters owned these theaters.
The only 2 names I can come up with are:
Chapel Hill Road Drive-In, with 2 different roads mentioned, Chapel Hill Road and Highway 15, which are the same road, I think?
Valley Drive-In on Durham-Chapel Hill Road, which again, I think is the same road?
I’ve also seen the Victory listed as being on First Street?
PLEASE CHANGE ADDRESS TO:
1060 U.S. 69, FRONTENAC KS 66763
Thank You

Right now you can see the site a bit up the street from the red dot. If the drive-in site ever gets built on you will never know where the site was.
Perhaps a better address would be 230 Athens Street.
In 2000 the drive-in was aquired by Classic Theaters Inc.
Andy, isn’t the address 2809?
Where is the theater in the Google Satellite Photo?
I found two other possible locations:
Highway 11 and Junction Road (I couldn’t find a Junction Road)?
84 College (that looks like it could have been a site for a drive in).
What do you think?
Anyone know the real site of the drive-in?
The drive-in was opened SOMETIME BETWEEN 1948-1950 and closed 1981-1985. If anyone can come up with better date or more info, please post it.
Can anyone come up with an address or a crossroad so we can pinpoint the site of this drive-in?
Interesting that Jackson Hewitt Tax Service, that is right next door to the theater site, has an address of 20846 Central Avenue East???
I’ve seen the Eagle Theater listed as being on Main Street??
I THINK it was open from AROUND 1935-1955.
PLEASE CHANGE THE ADDRESS:
JUST DELETE THE E AFTER 290 AND YOU WILL SEE THE DRIVE-IN AT THE PHOTO AT GOOGLE MAP.
Thank You
At one time Inde-Ex Booking Service owned this drive-in.

SHOULD THIS BE CHANGED TO TENNESSEE?
AKA AS:
LEXINGTON PARK CINEMA 6.
Opened ABOUT 1990?
Run by JF Theaters 1990?
Run by American Multi-Cinemas (AMC) 2005.
Don’t bother to use the map, it’s way off.
Better to use the AMC Website, go to:
Selecet Market
click Washinton DC
Select Theater
click AMC Loews Lexington
click Submit
click Map
click Hybrid.
I THINK you are in the area of the theater.
Anyone know if I’m right, I haven’t been around Pax River in years?
I THINK it opened in 1969 and closed in 1984.
It was run by ABC North Central Theaters and by Plitt from 1980-1984.
I kinda think Kohl’s is in a brand new building and not in the theater, can anyone tell us for sure?
It is the Artic’s first IMAX Theater!
It is not listed yet, on the Regal webpage.
Thanks
Is this the same theater? Notice it is in WINDSOR, not SANTA ROSA. 4 photos from Cinema Tour, the last photo shows construction of an addition.

Notice in the below Cinema Tour Site that the street listed is:
EAST CIVIC CENTER DRIVE
and the town is:
CATHEDRAL CITY??
The address number is exactly the same, so I think the 19 photos are for this theater. What do you think?
Notice the outside signs just say, PICKFORD THEATER.
