A 1987 view of the Gillioz Theatre in Springfield here, here, here and here. I wonder why the original design of the marquee and GILLIOZ lettering was not retained.
A 12/26/90 view of the Cinema Theater (Wigwam) in Altus here and here. And enlarged views here and here that match M Harwick’s description and the OHS photo. Sad that they covered up the classic facade with the ugly tin and that the theater has been demolished.
The Delman was closed for some time when it was rented to a black theatre group that renamed it Macabar for a short time. It never panned out and I’m not even sure how many performances were presented there..not many. There was a fire in the buildings next door which sealed the Delman’s fate and later transients broke into the theatre setting it on fire…then it was razed. It did not look like much from the outside but the inside was very, very pretty.
A 1996 view of the sad and abandoned Orpheum Theatre in Champaign here and here. But it looks as if if someone still loved it. Notice the two small, nicely kept flower gardens in front of the theatre. An enlarged view here and here.

A “bingo security guard” ran me out when I crossed the fence with a camera and approached the theater for a closer look.
