I think this theater closed permanently because Premiere Cinemas did not reopen this theater back in May when Texas allow theaters to reopen and the theater is not on the Premiere Cinemas site anymore.

I meant Screen 10 was turned into a IMAX on June 5, 2015 two weeks after they closed down the old IMAX theater across the Mall. First IMAX movie they played was San Andreas. Sorry for my grammar in my last comment.

They closed this theater on May 22, 2015. The last IMAX movie they played was Avengers: Age of Ultron. Two weeks later they turn Screen 10 into a IMAX theater inside the AMC Palisades 21 building and the first film they played in that auditorium is San Andreas.

This is the first New Mexico movie theater to reopen in 2021 during the pandemic, it reopened on March 5, 2021 and the movies they played on its first week are, Raya and The Last Dragon, Chaos Walking, Tom & Jerry, Nomadland The Little Things, News of The World, and The Croods: A New Age. Expect more theaters in New Mexico

Actually General Cinema closed this theater on September 29, 2000 (making September 28 their last day) due to the company near bankruptcy and that the theater hasn’t showed any new movies to play on their opening weekend of release since Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo when it first opened back in December 1999, they been playing movies that left Century Rio 24 before they go to the second-run theater Cinemark Movies 8. Madstone Theaters took over General Cinema and opened its doors on June 7, 2002 as a Indie theater and the first Albuquerque movie theater to serve alcohol. But the last day was on June 7, 2004 due to Madstone heading into bankruptcy but they planning on keeping this theater opened since it was the most busiest Madstone Theatres but they ended up having to close it and all of their theaters and leaving Albuquerque without a movie theater that serves alcohol until 12 years later when Flix Brewhouse opened.

DanielTheMovieGod commented about Rio Rancho Twin Cinema on Jan 28, 2020 at 1:53 am

I have never been to this theater before (cause I wasn’t born by the time they closed it down) but I heard it was a great small Rio Rancho theater…….. UNITL either 1994-1995 when the theater was flooded and even through they cleaned up the theater afterwards and stayed in business until 1998, the main thing they didn’t get rid of is the smell after the flood, people we’re complaining that it was very smelly and the managers didn’t even care what others think, but people still come back to the theater cause it was cheaper than Starport and Movies West at the time and most of them just got used to the smell
