Thanks lostmemory – great find. I have eaten in the basement restaruant numerous times and had no idea that the building housed a theatre at one.

The public will get a chance to learn more about the proposed redevelopment of the Westmont Theater next week. The Barn Theatre was open from the early 1930s through the mid 1980s. There is a nice photo (“Air Conditioned”) on page 83 of Sketches of a River Town (1997) by Ellen Fletcher.
According to this article, the theater has been “refurbished it to its former glory” by Taras Penkalskyj and his wife, Lesia. They held a children’s movie festival there last summer.

Correct spelling of city is “Atlantic”.
A Wurlitzer organ (opus 800) was installed in this theatre on 5/28/1925.
